GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- Steve Rivkin, of Glen Rock, died Nov. 16. He was 69.
He was president of Rivkin & Associates, a naming, marketing and communications consultancy, and CEO of Estes Park Institute, a leading educational organization for health care executives, for which he served for 20 years.
Co-author of six books on marketing strategy, differentiation, innovation and communication, he was a coveted speaker at global seminars and workshops.
A cum laude graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, he was a board member of the nonprofit Volunteers in Medicine, a national network of 90 free clinics in 23 states, which care for the uninsured.
He enjoyed good food and wine, Queen, Patsy Cline, verbal jousting and 1950s rock and roll music. Reading and words were a passion and, by donating his corneas, he gave the gift of sight to two people.
